19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.
The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on court had led commentators to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet defended four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
